Judging for the event will consist of impartial senior-level managers representing GE and the Deloitte Human Capital practice.

Orlan Boston, Principal, Human Capital
Orlan is a Principal in our Life Sciences and Human Capital practices with over 10 years of consulting experience in Management Consulting where he focuses on helping organizations improve business performance through strategic, human, structural, business process, and technology changes. His diverse background includes extensive Human Resources and Performance, Organizational Effectiveness, Change Leadership, Strategy and Operations, and Program Management consulting experience across a variety of industries as well as entrepreneurial start-up experience.  As a part of Deloitte’s National Mergers & Acquisitions leadership team, he co-leads the Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical M&A practice.

He has been working with Johnson & Johnson for over 4 years on a number of transformation initiatives across Pharma, Medical Devices, Consumer and Corporate. These initiatives have included the Cordis/Guidant, Pfizer Consumer, Omrix, Mentor and Systagenix deals as well as projects in Research & Development and Corporate HR.

Orlan holds a B.S. in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
 
Tammie Potvin, Principal, Human Capital
Tammie is a Principal in Deloitte’s Human Capital practice, focusing on Technology Adoption (including SAP and Oracle) as well as large-scale Organizational Transformation.  Her experience includes:  ERP, HR outsourcing, large scale change management planning and implementation, communication strategy and design, post-merger integration, process assessment and design, and organizational assessment.  She serves clients in both the Consumer Business and Manufacturing industries.

Prior to joining Deloitte Consulting, Tammie was the worldwide leader of the Change Management practice group at iXL, a firm specializing in building and implementing Internet solutions for Fortune 500 companies.  She also spent several years as a Principal at Pritchett & Associates, assisting clients with merger and acquisition integration.  Prior to that, Tammie was part of Price Waterhouse’s Change Integration infrastructure group, providing benchmarking and best practice support to client engagement teams around the world.  Additionally, Tammie served as an Assistant Professor at Texas Christian University where she designed and taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Leadership, Business and Professional Communication, Organizational Research, and Professional Interviewing.

Tammie graduated with a Bachelor's in Communications from Oral Roberts University; she received her Masters in Communications from the University of Florida and her PhD in Organizational Communication from the University of Kansas.
